Flowers are blooming, the days are getting longer, summer festivals are drawing nearer, and somewhere in a field a small freckled child is petting a newborn goat. Yes, spring is not only upon us, it’s given us a hug and a big sloppy kiss. And if that weren’t enough, we now have yet another reason to feel winter has come to an end: the return of Teenage Fanclub!!
They’ve got a new album coming out on May 31st, titled ‘Shadows’ (and no, that title doesn’t in any way cancel out all the springy um, springfulness I opened this post with), and will be preceded by the single ‘Baby Lee’ on May 24th. It’s as sweet as a freshly baked apple pie, and as melodic as the song of the happiest little bird (I know, I’ve probably had too much coffee) on his trip back north. In other words, it’s a slice of pure Teenage Fanclubness (and may well be referring to one of those baby goats).
