BREAKING NEWS: Letters have no Arms is moving to Barcelona!

Yep. In a little over two months (July). We’ve been planning it for some time, and felt it was time we shared the news with you, dear reader. This means we’ll probably be mentioning the move now and then, and you’ll understand what the hell we’re talking about if we start mentioning boxes and moving trucks and apartments and Ikea.

I first moved to Athens many years ago to spend one college year abroad. That year soon became four and even after I left (spending a few years in London and Amsterdam in between), I returned again in 2005. I’ve been here ever since, and have had lots of fun and got into plenty of adventures, but after five years feel ready for a change of scenery. And some trees.

Eliza has lived here for the past 9 years, and was planning to leave after graduating from university anyway, so this summer is a good chance to pack our bags and go west.

I spent a few years living in Spain (in Javea, outside of Valencia) as a  kid, so it’ll be a return of sorts.

The plan for the next few months is currently as follows. We’re flying to Barcelona in 2.5 weeks to a. attend Primavera Sound 2010, and b. find an apartment. We’ll then return to Barcelona for good (i.e. indefinitely) in July.

Do you live in Barcelona, are you attending PS 2010, or do you just happen to be passing through Barcelona in either May or anytime after July, drop us a line too (via the comment box, our Facebook page or via letterarms [at] gmail.com). We know we have a few readers in and around Barcelona, so would love to meet you over a beer and some good music. In case you were wondering, our Spanish is semi-coherent, and we’re pretty friendly.

Make sure to keep an eye out for our Primavera Sound 2010 preview in the next week or so!

The Fall – I’m going to Spain

David Bowie – Five Years

Pet Shop Boys – Go West

Electrelane – Cut And Run

Camera Obscura – Let’s get out of this country

Better change Spain to Catalunya in the title… But seriously: feel free to drop me a line if you need any pointers, been living in Barcelona for over five years now. You´ll love it. Cheers!

Yeah I was actually contemplating that! Ok, I’ve made a compromise: the link says Spain, but the title says Barcelona ;)

Thanks a lot, both of you!

Hmmm… So this means you’ll be a different country after July, not allowing us to say that we’ll come see you and then not, then, hmmm? Bummer…
Thank goodness, the Interwebs allow us to still follow this blog, wherever it is you’re actually posting from.

Hi ,Barcelona is a fabolous city but lately is considered by the international press a broad minded city region. It is a pity that the image of barcelona has been deteriorated because as far as I’m concerned Barcelona is very cosmopolitan due to the cultural diversity which gives them great wealth.
